What kind of thread to use?

I'm always confused about what kind of thread I should use on a project and usually end up just using whatever matches. But not so any more!

Check out this brochure on thread types

found on craftzine who found it via http://label-free.blogspot.com/.

I think I need to bend wire more often - it's the only part I'm not happy with. I love this pendant and think I will be wearing it often!

Crowded teeth has been on my radar off and on for the last few years. Her art is really really cute and upbeat. She's got a new project for her 25th year of life and you can check it out here:

the fruits of my weekend

I sorted through my button stash this weekend and this is the result...

Black button, watch parts and a random gear:

Blue Buttons and some more gears. I needed to cut stems off off all the gears and the big silver button looking thing in the center is actually the winder stem for a watch:

This is a set of earrings I made from buttons as well. I had to cut the shanks off the backs of the white pearly buttons:

And I found this AWESOME Halston button in my last grab bag from the thrift store. It looks more "shell" like in real life.

pink overloaded baby stuffs

My coworker and friend Becky is having her baby girl a week from Friday. So my team set up a baby shower for her on Monday and this is what I contributed as well as setting most of it up ;).

12 pointed Star Afghan
(stoller sized) with 3 rows of white (one for each of the girls in the family once the baby is born - mom, big sister, and little sister).

Baby hat - made from the Happy Hooker book (sock monkey hat with no monkey or color change)

1 pair baby mary janes found randomly on crochet pattern central (can't find pattern now).
